Senior Clinician | Swedesboro, NJ

The Senior Clinician/Behavior Analyst is responsible for ensuring the welfare of individuals in the program and for overseeing the clinical assessments of individuals served as well as providing guidance on and participating in developing, implementing, and evaluating functional behavioral assessments to ensure that delivery of services occurs in a therapeutic environment. Serves as a direct extension of the Clinical Director in all aspects of job performance. Shares supervision of Clinician/Behavior Analysts and Behavior Specialists with the State Director. Reports directly to the State Director and Clinical Director.    


  • Provide direct supervision, along with the State Director, of all Clinicans/Behavior Analysts
  • Oversee the clinical assessments and treatment of individuals
  • Oversee the design and supervise the implementation of individualize treatment programs
  • Assess the effectiveness of individual treatment programs through the collection and analysis of data and suggest revisions when indicated
  • Participate in the design, provision and monitoring of the overall therapeutic environment, with emphasis on providing humane and effective treatment environments of the highest standard
  • Develop and oversee systems to coordinate and monitor delivery of services within a therapeutic environment
  • Develop and manage HRC/PRC functions including:
  • Ensure that all student behavorial graphs are up to date for HRC/PRC meetings
  • Ensure that all HRC/PRC program modifications are included and implemented in treatment protocols
  • Be prepared to respond to all issues and aspects related to behavioral programs raised by the HRC
  • Oversee the develop of and evaluate the behavior treatment plans for individuals served to decrease problem behaviors, determine and implement replacement behaviors, and to increase individual skill acquisition of adaptive behavior
  • Develop and implement Clinical Strategic Plan
  • Review restrictive procedures and develop methods for reducing their usage
  • Develop innovative clinical treatment models to serve new populations
  • Coordinate the behavioral assessment of individual pre-admission evaluations
  • Monitor and control the costs of clinical programming
  • Oversee behavior treatment plans as needed and ensure consistent application of behavior treatment plans in accordance with stated procedures by means of observation, modeling, training and supervision of staff
  • Provide initial and on-going staff training 
  • Prepare written reports of individuals’ progress and ensure case files are organized, completed and updated regularly
  • Assist in the facilitation of transfers and transitions of individuals served both internally and externally, as necessary
  • Observe behavior programs and classroom protocols
  • Serve as a resource to teachers and staff
  • Serve as a direct extension of the Clinical Director in all aspects of job performance
  • Assist in communication with parents and agencies as indicated during routine schedules and program reviews
  • Avail self to the Clinical Director as needed to assist in emergency or unique circumstances to ensure the continuity of programming and well being of the residents
  • Oversee all data collection and analysis
  • Participate in clinical and peer review meetings
  • Interact professionally with individuals, co-workers, families, and /or community members.  Serve as a role model by exemplifying professional behavior, language, skills, and attire   
  • Assure adherence to program procedures and compliance with AdvoServ policies and the regulatory requirements of its licensing agencies 
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to individuals, employees or any aspect of AdvoServ business 
  • Actively participate in departmental and other meetings as assigned
  • Actively participate in and complete all training and attend inservices as required
  • Remain current with required training certifications, meet state-regulated licensing and regulatory accreditations, and adhere to mandatory requirements
  • Assist with any audits, inspections, or investigations conducted by AdvoServ or any third party agency
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and remains flexible and adaptable in assignments  

Background and Experience

  • Current board certification from the Behavior Analysis Certification Board 
  • Masters or doctoral degree in psychology or a related field
  • Three years of experience in the provision of behavior analytic clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to teach the functional skills necessary to increase the level of independence within residential, educational, vocational, and community-based settings
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to make sound decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to use time in an efficient and effective manner
  • Ability to maintain an “on-call” status 
  • Valid, active driver’s license without any major violations within the past three (3) years

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to perform CPR (child/adolescent/adult), administer first aid, and implement approved intervention techniques. Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, and sitting, repetitive wrist/hand movement, pushing/pulling. Occasional use of office equipment. Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.  Requires occasional travel and operation of AdvoServ vehicles.
