Senior Electrical Engineer | Raleigh, NC

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Martin Marietta, you will be responsible for a variety of plan, design, management, and operation tasks for electrical design projects. Throughout this process, you will work closely and communicate regularly with project manager, operation managers, senior division management, and corporate planners. This role requires a high level of innovation and knowledge in applying electrical and control improvements to plant processes. Responsibilities 

  • Support projects and operations by performing electrical design, cost estimation, preparation of bid documents and packages, contract reviews, procurement, and scheduling equipment deliveries and expediting
  • Manage, plan, design (including schematics), and coordinate electrical power distribution design in an industrial environment
  • Manage field electrical construction projects involving various aggregate plant improvements, new plant installations, process improvement projects, automation and other electrical projects involving mineral resource handling and processing
  • Assist Project Manager with a focus on maintaining schedule and budgets
  • Communicate with project managers, operations managers, senior division management and corporate managers on project status
  • Travel 25-50% 

Background and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology or related, with substantial industrial power design experience
  • Professional Engineering license preferred
  • 5+ years industrial electrical design with experience managing projects
  • Experience in mining, mineral processing, aggregates, cement, concrete, and/or asphalt preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with design and installation of three phase 480V power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, soft starters, motor controls, electric motors, and PLCs/automated systems 
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in team environment toward a common goal
  • Proficiency in standard computer skills, AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project
