RETAIL SALES REPRESENTATIVE | SANTA BARBARA, CA

The Retail Sales Representative’s main objective is to take routine tasks away from the sales team to allow them to focus on selling and meeting sales objectives. Also responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and managing quality of product and service delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and qualify leads
  • Source and develop client referrals
  • Prepare sales action plans and strategies
  • Schedule sales activity
  • Develop and maintain a customer database
  • Make sales calls to new and existing clients
  • Work with Sales & Production departments to ensure that client needs are met as quickly as possible
  • Ensure all marketing materials including brochures, labels and mailing lists are accurate and accessible
  • Research and collect information for market analysis, RFP’s and prospective opportunities
  • Develop and make presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients
  • Prepare and present sales contracts
  • Maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports
  • Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
  • Perform quality checks on product and service delivery
  • Monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
  • Perform engaging and accurate system demonstrations
  • Guide customers around the showroom and point out different product lines and products in the showroom
  • Ask questions and respond appropriately to determine the customers’ needs
  • Demonstrate the showroom products at customers’ requests
  • Provide showroom materials (brochures, builders’ books, etc.) for customer education
  • Help customers determine products, styles, colors, and all rough-in materials. Attempt to up-sell when appropriate

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of sales
  • Knowledge of customer service principles
  • Knowledge of basic business principles
  • Experience in sales
  • Experience in making presentations
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets
