Morningside Translations is an international language services company offering a variety of foreign language support services to global corporations, law firms and government organizations. Morningside’s primary services include document translation, interpretation, website localization services, large-scale foreign language document review, and other language-related and legal services.   

Morningside seeks a Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the legal and language services industries. The Business Development Manager is responsible for acquiring new, qualified leads through various methods of direct outreach and consultative selling, telephone and email communications, strategic marketing efforts, face-to-face meetings, tradeshows, conferences, and social media. The Business Development Manager works closely with the sales team advising on sales strategies with a special emphasis on closing.


  • Generating new accounts and revive/grow older accounts
  • Introduce new strategies for effective salesmanship to the legal industry
  • Developing a thorough understanding of Morningside's products and services, and effectively communicating these offerings to prospects and potential clients
  • The integration of ancillary services into our existing sales offerings and pitch
  • Advise sales staff on litigation processes and educating them on translation solutions for large litigation matters
  • Contribute to RFPs and client presentations in order to establish strong and firm firm-wide relationships, with special attention to the non-language services and other ancillary services required to secure and maintain such relationships
  • Establish and maintain client relationships by successfully identifying customer needs and requirements in collaboration with Morningside's operations team
  • Become conversant with company pricing models to meet revenue and profit margin goals for company
  • Develop sales tactics with other business development managers to increase company profits
  • Develop a working knowledge of our CRM tools and translation project software
  • Represent Morningside at industry conferences to network, acquire industry education, build new leads and sustain current client relationships


  • BA/BS degree
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with high-level professionals
  • Experience prospecting and growing an account list
  • Track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals and benchmarks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High energy and entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to learn quickly
  • Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented and enjoys being measured by results
  • Works well in a diverse, upbeat and entrepreneurial office environment
  • Foreign language skills a plus but not a requirement
