Lead Technician | Chicago, IL 

Are you looking for a job that keeps you busy and pays well? Then Sir Grout will be a great fit for you. Due to recent growth in our company, Sir Grout of Chicago is hiring additional Lead Technicians. The Lead Technician is responsible for the floor/hard surface restoration work in homes and businesses and ensuring that the customer is completely satisfied with the service performed. The candidate must be exceptional in dealing with customers in their homes or at their businesses. It's a "hands-on" role where you will be using our unique machinery and materials to restore and reseal floors, showers, counters and other hard surface areas that are damaged and in need of beautifying. This is not an office position; you will be working in homes and businesses. The Lead Technician will be responsible for the following: 

  • Show up on-time for each job, every day and complete an initial walk-through with the customer.
  • Perform all quoted tasks for the customer to their complete satisfaction.
  • Answer any questions for the customer calmly and politely (the customer is always right)
  • Conduct a final, thorough walk-through inspection with the customer.
  • Collect full payment for the work and have the customer sign-off on the invoice.
  • Call in with a full update before leaving the job site.

Experience and Background

  • Must have a "customer first" attitude and an ability to interact professionally with customers.
  • Previous experience working with tile including installations and grouting.
  • Previous experience working with natural stone such as marble, granite, travertine, etc.
  • Some experience working with a 175rpm floor machine or "swing machine"
  • Minimum 3 years experience working on floors, showers and other hard surfaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. Must be meticulous and organized.
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • A clean driver's license, reliable work ethic, honest and on time. Especially on time!
  • Must be trainable; able to follow specific instructions. Able to lift heavy equipment (75 lbs.).
  • Available weekdays, Saturdays and some evenings.
  • Have a safe place to park and store a company vehicle.
  • A working cell phone and personal computer with Internet and a printer.
  • Previous tile installation, construction background and sales experience all a major PLUS.
